table with a graphic and some text. none

Description dogshed 2003-09-27 02:04:40 UTC
I have a table. I want to leave the upper left corner cell blank.
I have a graphic of the molecular structure of benzoic acid and the text
"Benzoic" acid in the next cell to the right of the very first cell. If I try to
move the graphic just below the text I can do it if I put in in just the right
place.
After that if I try to slide it down just a bit the anchor icon jumps to the the
cell to the left.

I made a document and reproduced it.
I discovered that if I type the text first I don't have the problem.
I think that's because it puts in another paragraph marker. If I
deleted the second paragraph marker it does it again.

Here are the exact steps I took.
I created a new document. I inserted a 4x4 table.
I placed my cursor in the second cell of the top row.
I inserted a small graphic.
I typed "benzoic". (Benzoic is now under the graphic.)
I grabbed the graphic and slid it down just a bit until the top of the
graphic is even with the text. I release and the text goes to the top,
there is a large gap above the graphic between the graphic and the
text and the row has increased in height.
If I now try to move the graphic back up the anchor icon moves to the
first cell.
