drawing objects like text boxes or rectangles can't be aligned centered or 
right etc.

I can Reproduce the problem on OOo 1.1 RC4, Win XP Pro Sp1

I am not sure it is defect or feature request

i can confirm this, because this was not possible in OO1.0 too, i set 
this to enhancement and reassign this to bh

change the summery to

please enable alignment of drawing objects in the writer

I've eye-balled it because I couldn't do it any other way.  I agree. 
We should be able to align them with respect to the page.
