If you import a Word doc that has text in a cell that is vertically positioned,
OpenOffice seems to ignore it.. See atatched screen shots and sample DOC file.

I can Reproduce the problem on 
OpenOffice 1.1 RC4(default Install, US), Win XP Pro Sp1. 
(And MS Office XP Sp2). 
It is real problem

original text is from bottom to top (same as normal text rotated -90)
displayed in OO as from top to bottom

That's because Writer's tables do not support "Text direction" for its
contents.
