Open file to mail-merge. 
Press F4 to open datasource viewer 
click Mail-merge button 
choose to output to printer and select individual jobs. 
Click OK, select a printer (I chose Generic Printer with Linux) and choose to 
print to file. 
Enter the name of the file to print to 
After printing you will notice that there is only 1 one file generated 
containing only the last page. 
I would have liked different files to be generated so a not to lose each job 
(each page) before the last. Indeed each intermediate page between the first 
and the last job are overwritten.

this is not possible yet. i change the issue type to enhancement and 
reassign this to bh to have a look on this issue

lbc -> bh: I think this problem is in the print-to-file driver, not the mailmerge.

The Issue you raised is currently 'Unconfirmed' pending review, but has not been
updated within the last 3 years. Please consider re-testing with one of the
latest versions of OOo, as the problem(s) may have already been addressed.

or consider trying the new OOo 3 BETA (still in testing):

To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on
my owner to the owner "requirements".
