Shows ugly side effect and image of the intended effect
HI->AMA: Nearly the same like 17474 but with a little difference. See the attachment. We use the polygon for text wrapping as well as for clipping of the graphic. This makes sense in many cases. In the example you don't want it. The solution will be a property which can be set at the graphic. I consider this a bug! If I want to have a wrap around a graphic the way we offer it I just cut the graphic to the right shape. But what I expect is that the text will run OVER the graphic! Clipping or not clipping?
No, it's no bug. We've inserted a few lines of code to clip the graphic because sometimes it's very useful. See my last attachment. I inserted a rose with contour wrapping and of course I don't want to see the (clipped) background of the rose. Normally I don't want to have text above a graphic. But if you really need it, you have a workaround, see my attachment and have a look at the blue circle ;-) So sometimes we want the clipping, sometimes not, we'll need it for our own older documents but we don't want it for Word import. The solution: we need a property which decides if the graphic will clipped or not during the contour wrapping. I don't have the resources to implement this feature for 2.0. To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on my owner to the owner "requirements". |
