or more precisely the key that is the mouse wheel which on IntelliMouse 
Explorer usually enables a quad-directional auto-scroll depending on how far 
the mouse is moved from the position the wheel has been clicked on.

supported in OOo 1.1 RC    BUT:



scrolling is not as smooth as I'm used to from other applications

mousewheel scolling is almost unuseably annoying to me.  On my system
it seems to scroll one whole screen per wheel tick.  In fact it
scrolls even more than pageup/pagedown such that after it scrolls,
none of what I saw before the scroll is still on the screen.  It
drives me crazy because I can't tell if I missed some of the document
as it went by.

It would be nice to have a configuration for how far a wheel tick will
scroll.
