Open Stylist window
Open Tools > Outline Numbering 

Click on x on Stylist. The Outline dialogue "turns grey" and the Stylist
activates but doesnÂ´t close.

Guido, I can reproduce this, but do you think that this is really a
bug or at least 'unwanted behaviour'? Because as this works in the
same way with other dialogs (just try f.e. Tools > Footnotes) I would
guess it is..

I thought that it would behave the same with other dialogs.

You are right in saying that it doesnÂ´t need a term like "bug" to
label it. "Unwanted behaviour" is fine with me, yet it does feel like
a bug, since the Stylist activates, i.e. it is responding to my
clicking on x. But it doesnÂ´t respond as expected. If it wouldnÂ´t
respond at all, things would be different.

The side-effects of the modality of dialogs are a problem of the VCL
library. This will most probably not change as long a the VCL is not
replaced by another toolkit (which is planned for the future).
I close this task as invalid.
