Description sajithvk 2003-06-21 06:32:23 UTC
Openoffice shows error in handling Split vowels. I am trying in language
malayalam (code ml). The first split matra, Which should come before the base
consonent is now "OVERLAPPING" with the base consonent.
Comment 1 ooomod 2003-06-21 11:28:09 UTC
This issue should be reassigned to the localization project (l10n).

Thanks for reporting.

SBA->DL: WHAT language... ;-)? I don't understand the problem at all.
Comment 4 sajithvk 2003-06-27 11:37:38 UTC
Language is malayalm (code --ml). In indian languages we have some
alphabets (more specifically vowels) which is splited into two parts
when displaying. One part of the splited vowel goes before the
previous consonemt and second part goes after the consonent. Such
vowels are called split vowels.

For malayalam, Openoffice splits the vowels currectly. The second
part goes after the consonent currectly, but first part which has to
go before the consonent overlaps with the consonent. We have two
vowels of this kind (Split vowels) in malayalam language.

Rendering shows fine in
"insert->special charecter" window.
But issue exists in othe main window.
The issue effects almost all indian
languages

The tamil Rendering bug 15013, Bangali issue 11061 and this bug are the same.
This bug will effect all the Indian Languages........ Need immediate consideration.
Any more info needed?
