Description peterpoeliejoe 2003-05-26 21:39:32 UTC
On my work I use Windows 98, Office '97 and OpenOffice. First 1.0.1, and via
1.0.2, 1.0.3 to 1.1 beta.
On a regular basis Microsoft Word "hangs" when the quickstarter of OO is loaded.
I can still start and use OpenOffice, it seems not to be effected by this. When
pressed Ctrl-Alt-Del, Windows tells that soffice has become unstable. When I
close this box, I can still use OO.

cp->ssa: any chance to reproduce ? tz mentioned that sba _might_ have
a chance to do so. Please check if there's an option to look after
this issue.

Sorry, cannot reproduce. I think QA should take over.

The document does not have to be the same. I've experienced the
problem only with text-documents (Writer). As soon as OpenOffice
Writer has been used, MS Word or Excel will hang when started. In Task
Manager Ctrl-Alt-Delete) "Soffice" is told be be "not responding".
I can still use OpenOffice, but I have to close Excel or Word with the
Task Manager. I've installed RC4, but that doesn't make any difference.

It's only with this machine, with Windows 98. XP or Linux on my own
machine doesn't give any problems.

Peter, this problem is one we have been trying to track down for a
long time now.

I'm going to mark this as a duplicate of issue 7037.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
