Which jave version should have been detected?
On my machine JRE 1.4.0, ~.1 and ~.2 has been detected.
Comment 2 kelvine 2003-05-23 10:32:25 UTC
Hi,

Just thought I would add that I experienced that to.

Installing OO1.1beta2 did not recognise java not matter what I did.
Browsing to folder etc. OO1.0.3.1 was working fine with java.

The version of java I had was java1.4.0.01 I believe.

I downloaded a later version java 1.4.1.02 and now it works fine.

I think this small version difference is something few would expect.

My machine is running Windows XP Home.

Resolved as WORKSFORME seems a bit odd with three people now
reporting the same problem.

Hope this helps

Kelvin

i see this issue reported in the unconfirmed bug 14775
i commented in that bug:
>on my Windows98 installation, Java 1.4.0_01 was also not recognized,
>then i updated to the latest version, 1.4.1_02 and was recognized.
>unfortunately, is not specified in the Release Notes or Readme the
>minimum requirement for Java
Comment 4 Olaf Felka 2003-05-23 11:26:46 UTC
The java requirements have been changed for beta 2. The setup
recognizes these versions:
1.4.0_02, 1.4.0_03 etc.
1.4.1_01, 1.4.1_02 etc.
1.4.2 etc.
1.4.1 is excluded because it does not contain a fix necessary for
accessibility.
Comment 5 Olaf Felka 2003-05-23 11:31:08 UTC
It's not odd that I write that it works for me, even when it works for
me. And when I get such a short bug description I need a crystal ball
to reproduce the issue.
