Description peopleandplanet 2003-05-20 17:05:27 UTC
This is a problem because I'm trying to design a high quality logotype. I need
to combine two curved objects (curves), which OOo will do, but it converts them
to polygons (ie. curves to lines). I can not seem to find anywhere to adjust the
quality (ie. no. of lines to aproximate a curve by).

Specific example:
draw a big rectangle with rounded corners (enlarge the radius).
draw another, small enough to fit inside.
select both, right click and choose convert to curve.
enable "Edit Points" - you should see that they are made of the minimal number
of points, and smooth curves.
now combine them
instantly, the curves are lost.

This is a "serious" problem to me, in that I will have to use different software
to get the job done, but I am really keen to support OOo and hope that by
submitting this someone will look at it in due course.

All the best,

rich

This is a missbehaviour which is already fixed in 1.1 beta2
(http://www.openoffice.org/dev_docs/source/1.1beta2/index.html).
Please have a look.
Thanks for your help!
