Description peterthevicar 2003-05-15 09:03:25 UTC
A file with the default single quote substitution
(Tools/AutoCorrect/CustomQuotes) in 1.1 Beta displays blocky quotes rather than
the typographic quotes in the font. Version 1.0.3 displays the quotes from the
font.

Note that the same saved file displays the quotes differently in the two OOo
versions on the same system so it is not to do with font installation etc.
Effectively this means that any files using custom quotes saved under 1.0.3 need
reformatting under 1.1 Beta.

Should have said this issue is on Linux, don't know if it applies to
Windows.

The font concerned was taken from Windows to Linux (happens with
Elementary, Optimum and many others) but this also applies to the
Times font on Linux.

Interestingly it does NOT occur with Arial, Times New Roman, Comic
Sans, Tahoma which are presumably more complete fonts?

This is fixed in 1.1Beta2 - wonderful!
