When imported MS Word document contains embedded MS excel tables, double click
on such table opens MS Excel. It should probably be opened with Calc.

You have boh possibilities. Go to "Tools.Options.Load/Save.Microsoft
Office" there you can activate werther you want to have it as MS Excel
object or as Calc object afer import.
