PowerPoint file with embedded WORD table
Created attachment 420 [details]
IMpress 6.0 file resulting from PowerPoint file
The table looked better after PPT-Import in 5.2, in the actual version, the layout of the table has changed according Oliver´s description. Doubleclick on that object leads to a crash (new bug). There are two problems here, the graphic is not scaled correctly, and entering the edit mode of the ole object leads to a crash. A fix for this bug is still in work and will be available soon. Sven Hi Caolan, here is another task for you. The PowerPoint document includes a Word ole object, that is per default, if you haven't changed the Microsoft compatibility settings, converted to a Writer ole. And here is the problem, the vis area is wrong so that the font size looks awfully scaled. If you are using the unchanged Word ole the vis area is correct. This seems to be a Word import problem, it could not been reproduced if you import an Excel or PowerPoint ole object which then are converted to Calc or Impress. Thanks, Sven This must be more of a generic "using writer as an ole object" problem than a specific filter problem. The ww filter doesn't do anything special if its is being used as an embedded importer. A similiar problem shows if I save the embedded word document to a seperate (.sxw) file and then try again to insert it "as ole2 from file". Then I get a table which is clipped at the right and has lots of whitespace at the left and top. When I edit it and play with the scrollbars there are various problems with changing size. e.g. use the horizonal scroll bar to scroll to the far right, now on scrolling back to the left the ole2 window shrinks during scrolling. So it looks to me like writer has a general problem when being used as an ole2 object as to what size it is or should be. I wonder if some of this behaviour is related to issue 904. I will see, what dimension I can set. The same as WinWord has, we can't set, because they have a specific "Zoom" - show the complete content of the first page. Found a better solution, so it is fixed in the 641k build. The Issue you raised has been marked as 'Resolved' and not updated within the last 1 year+. I am therefore setting this issue to 'Verified' as the first step towards Closing it. If you feel this is incorrect, please re-open the issue and add any comments.
