Description jlfaulkn 2003-04-02 00:10:06 UTC
This is for the Openoffice.org 1.1 Final logo -- we will just modify and reuse
current designs to update the version numbers in the logo.

hey, jason!
these are awsome.
critique: the font is of course a departure and the slight graininess
might draw some unwanted attention.

arguably we could have the 1.1 centered below eg,

          OOO
          1.1
Windows | Linux | Solaris | Mac

but I really really do leave this to your insight.

Is the used font available for free?
I'm asking, because the n/l-projects have to translate the logos and
this would be more easy, if we could use original fonts colors etc.

At the moment we cannot make any german logo, tha looks like the
original one, because the used font is a commercial one.

Confirmed Fedora Core 1/test2, even the ooo-build based stuff has this, so its
not a modification that's been made, rather than an inherent problem with OOo.

Call me silly, but why the need for the version number on the graphics?
It means that every minor release requires a graphics update to match (witness
the CD sleeve PDF which is still v1.0). If we have a major release (like v2)
there is always scope to put a splash logo over the 'version less' template a
la the "NEW! SHINY! IMPROVED!" labels on other products - which lose their
value after a couple of months anyway. Make it plain "OpenOffice.org" and
leave it at that - gives you time to focus on faster moving targets ;-)
