Description ingenstans 2003-03-28 11:00:39 UTC
This is a strange one. I was trying to paste a list of 16 filenames into a
letter, and accidentally pasted the image files themselves: 36MB of compressed
files.

OOo didn't crash -- congratulations. It wheezed and groaned for a while, and
then displayed all the images. But all except the first had been pasted into the
footer area of the page. That's definitely a mistake.

I had been going to upload the resulting file, but, as I say, it's 36MB, so I
probably better had not.

Steps to repeat:

1) open a writer document with footers

2) select and copy multiple image files from Windows Explorer -- more than will
fit on one page

3) with the cursor on the page body of the Writer document, press "paste".

4) watch where the images end up.

I am not sure that this ought to be priority 3. There can't be many people who
try this trick; I have no ide what would happen under Linux. But it is
definitely a bug.

Verified: If te cursor is not an footer or header, the graphics will
insert as expected at the page body.

All I can say is it does not work for me. I definitely had the cursor
in the main page area. That's were the first image ended up, as I
expected it to. But I had lultiple images selected. The second and
subsequent ones were pasted into the footer area; after about five of
them had been pasted there, the next bunch were pasted into the footer
of the second page.

Are you sure you tried pasting multiple images -- too many to fit onto
one page?
