Description kelvine 2003-02-24 09:13:15 UTC
The updated data in a spreadsheet is not available for use in a Writer mail
merge.

This is repeatable.

Set up a spreadsheet as a data source.
Enter the data into the spreadsheet, save but keep the spreadsheet open.

Now open a new writer document.
Press F4 to open data source. Select the Excel table and create a main
document for a mail merge.

Note the contents of the data source window.
Now switch back over to the spreadsheet, update the contents and save.

Now switch back to the document.
Notice how the data source information has not been updated.
Pressing refresh does nothing.

It may just be me but I can't find a way to get the updated data.

Given this is the prime example of how to set up a mail merge this is not
working the way it should.

I can confirm that this problem still exists in OO1.1beta2. The only
way to get the data refresh is to close everything (including the
Quickstarter) and restart OO.

Hi,

this is a double to Issue 9899.

Please try to workaround this Issue as mentioned in 9899 by disabeling
connection polling. For further Information have a look there.

Hi,

I thought I would provide feedback that changing the connection
pooling does not work.

I have just tested this under OO1.1RC3

Leaving closed though as issue is a duplicate.

Thanks
