Tried saving to:

C: - Fat16 - Fine
G: - Fat16 - Fine
H: - NTFS 5 - Fine
H:\...\Some Folder that is a child of a DFS Replica - GPF

DFS is Microsoft's Distributed File System

I have a replica of the folder setup, so it gets copied to another machine
asynchronously.

I had set the deep down folder to be "My Documents" using the options in
OpenOffice.

My Windows "My Documents" folder is within the DFS folder structure
(\\Forest.MyForest.Com\Files\Secure\User\David\My Documents). I can't access
this location using OpenOffice as it only lists local drives (the "Up Folder"
icon is greyed out when I get to the "local folders" level in the save dialog).

I moved the location of OpenOffice's MyDocuments and the save to the new
location worked. The save to the old location still failed. The path to the
folder that can't be saved to is:

\\Forest.myforest.com\files\Secure\User\David\My Documents\Open Office

It now contains a number of files such as sve13.tmp with no content that are
created when it GPFs. It also contains 2 HTML files, 1 DOC file and a sub
folder all created manually by me.

It looks like the DFS stuff is a red-herring, but I thought I should include
the information.

User described a workaround. I'm not sure wether we will fix this
issue (at least in the near future).
