Description trelane 2003-01-15 03:11:38 UTC
My wife just switched from Windows + MS Office to Linux + Open Office. Having
just typed for a while, she tried to save the document, and Open Office crashed,
taking the data with it! [Not a good intro, let me assure you]

Anyhow, I was able to reproduce everything except the crash. I only get a weird
state where the file is named the same as the directory that was highlighted
(i.e., the title bar reflected the highlighted directory NOT the typed (and
desired!) filename), getting a "general input/output error" in the process, and
saving absolutely nothing to disk.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open a new document (verified with writer, others probably also affected)
2. Type in some text
3. Click the save icon (the disk) in the toolbar
4. Type in a name to save it as
5. Highlight a directory above [NOTE that the typed name does not dissapear, yet
the directory remains highlighted!]
6. Click OK (or Save, or whatever the button's called)
7. Enjoy your General Error! [NOTE the title bar]
