Zoom factor Status: Preliminary -

  • New Writer document
  • Inset 3 page breaks with <Ctrl>+<Enter>
  • [Now document has 4 empty pages]
  • Slide Zoom to Minimum (20%)
  • Click "Single column mode" (first icon)
    • verify that all pages are stacked vertically
  • Click "many pages " (second icon)
    • verify that all pages stacked horizontally
  • Click "book mode" (third icon)
    • verify that the pages are in 2 columns
  • Move zoom slider slowly towards the left "snapping point" (tiny marks on the slider)
    • Verify that the slider "snaps" (within 5 pixels towards it)
    • Verify that the zoom level now shows two pages entirely (the absolute level depends on the current window size)
    • Move the mouse further and verify that the slider "releases", too
  • Move zoom slider towards the right "snapping point"
    • It should be in the middle of the slider
    • It should always be at a zoom level of "100%", regardless the window size
  • Click the "-" button beside the slider five times
    • Verify that each click reduces the zoom factor 5%
  • Click the "+" button beside the slider five times
    • Verify that each click increases the zoom factor 5%
  • [via menu] "View - Zoom"
  • Click "Optimal"
  • Click "Fit Width+height"
  • Click "Fit width"
  • Click "100%"
  • Click "Variable"
  • Insert "0" press <Tab>
    • verify (should be "20%" the min value)
  • Insert "6666" press <Tab>
    • verify (should be "600%" the max value)
  • Insert "aa3bb5cc" press <Tab>
    • verify (should be 35%, all non-numbers get cut)
  • Insert "asdf" press <Tab>
    • verify (should be the last value, here 35%)
  • Set Spin box to "40%", press Tab
    • verify (should be "40%")
  • Click Spinbox button "up" 5 times
    • verify (should be "45%")
  • Click Spinbox button "down" 10 times
    • verify (should be "35%")
  • Click OK
  • Read Zoom level in Status bar (should be "35%")
  • Close document

View Layout Status: Standard -

  • New document
  • Inset 3 page breaks with <Ctrl>+<Enter>

  • [via menu] View-Zoom
  • in "View layout" group
  • Click "Automatic"
  • Click "Single page"
  • Click "Columns"
  • In spin box "Columns, insert "3", press <Tab>
    • Verify that "Book mode" check box is disabled (odd number of columns)
  • Click Spin button "up"
    • Verify that "Book mode" is enabled (even number of columns)
  • Click Spin button "down" two times
    • Verify that box shows "2"
    • Verify that "Book mode" is enabled
  • Click OK
    • In Status bar, verify that "Book mode" is highlighted (rightmost icon)
  • [via menu] View-Zoom
    • Verify that "Book mode" is enabled
  • [via menu] View-Zoom
  • Click Single page, Click OK
    • In Status bar, verify that "Single page" is highlighted (leftmost icon)
  • Close document
