BLOCK SELECTION


Shift+Right/Left/Up/Down/Home/End
  • New document
  • Type:

aaa
bbb
ccc

  • Ctrl+Shift+F8 to activate the block selection mode

  • Set cursor before "aaa"

  • Press Shift+Right ("a" is selected)

  • Press Shift+End ("aaa" is selected)

  • Press Shift+Down 2 times

  • The selection is:

aaa
bbb
ccc

  • Copy

  • Press Shift+Home

  • Paste

  • The Text should look like:

aaaaaa
bbbbbb
cccccc


Cursor before Table/Inside table

  • New document or Ctrl+A, Del

  • type "aaa"

  • Insert a standard table (2x2)

  • type "bbb" in cell A1

  • type "ccc" in cell A2

  • type "ddd" after the table

  • Set the cursor before "aaa"

  • Ctrl+Shift+F8 to activate the block selection mode

  • Press Shift+Right 2 times

  • Press Shift+down 1 time

  • The current selection is:

  • Cut

  • Go to the end of the document

  • Press Enter

  • Paste

  • Multi-select every occurrence of "text"

  • Paste

  • The text should look like this

  • Type "Just a test" in the document body

  • Insert a header

  • Type in the header:

  • Shift+End and Shift+Down 6 times to select "aaa...ccc" and test if the selection doesn't reach the text body
