There are currently two different flavours of OpenOffice.org for Mac OSX:

  • OpenOffice.org Aqua for Mac OSX is a productivity application with the native look and feel on Mac OSX. Only release candidates and snapshots of it are available for now.
  • OpenOffice.org X11 for Mac OSX is a direct port of OpenOffice.org for Unix, which uses the X11 windowing environemnt. Use this if your MacOSX is older than 10.3 or you depend on having an offical OpenOffice.org release.
