Download OpenOffice.org for Mac OSX

There are two different flavours of OpenOffice.org for Mac OSX:

  • OpenOffice.org Aqua is the famous productivity application OpenOffice.org brought to and designed for Mac OSX.
  • OpenOffice.org X11 for Mac OSX is a direct port of OpenOffice.org for Unix, which has been obsoleted by the native port called OpenOffice.org Aqua. Unless you intend to run the application on MacOSX 10.3 (Panther) or older versions there is no reason to prefer OOo X11 over OOo Aqua.

Apache OpenOffice is an effort undergoing incubation at The Apache Software Foundation (ASF), sponsored by the Apache Incubator. Incubation is required of all newly accepted projects until a further review indicates that the infrastructure, communications, and decision making process have stabilized in a manner consistent with other successful ASF projects. While incubation status is not necessarily a reflection of the completeness or stability of the code, it does indicate that the project has yet to be fully endorsed by the ASF.
