Mailing lists

If you are not a member of the l10n project, you might want to have a look at the How to join page first.

We use mailing lists to communicate within the team. If you want to speak with other project members, the best way is to join one of our mailing lists.

Subscribing to the list is easy:
Click on the Mailing lists at the left of the screen (or use this direct link instead).

The list where most of the communication takes place is dev@l10n.openoffice.org. At the beginning, it's probably enough if you join just this one. Later you can join some other as needed. Subscribe by clicking on the Subscribe button under the mailing list name. You can also subscribe by sending an empty message to dev-subscribe@l10n.openoffice.org.

Now you are ready to communicate with the rest of the team via e-mail. If you want to join a real-time chat, have a look at the page about the IRC channel we use to meet once every two weeks.

Apache OpenOffice is an effort undergoing incubation at The Apache Software Foundation (ASF), sponsored by the Apache Incubator. Incubation is required of all newly accepted projects until a further review indicates that the infrastructure, communications, and decision making process have stabilized in a manner consistent with other successful ASF projects. While incubation status is not necessarily a reflection of the completeness or stability of the code, it does indicate that the project has yet to be fully endorsed by the ASF.
