How to join

You can become a member of the l10n project by registering at the OpenOffice.org website the website.

Once you are on the l10n project homepage, click on the Membership link at the left of your screen (or use this direct link instead).

Then click on the Request project membership/role. The only role you can request as a new member is the Observer role. By default, the radio button next to it should be checked. If it is, just click on the Submit request button and you're done! Your name will be added to the list once your request gets approved by the team lead.

Now you are a member of the l10n project. As a next step, you might want to have a look at the mailing lists we use for communication.

Apache OpenOffice is an effort undergoing incubation at The Apache Software Foundation (ASF), sponsored by the Apache Incubator. Incubation is required of all newly accepted projects until a further review indicates that the infrastructure, communications, and decision making process have stabilized in a manner consistent with other successful ASF projects. While incubation status is not necessarily a reflection of the completeness or stability of the code, it does indicate that the project has yet to be fully endorsed by the ASF.
